About

Sharon VanDyke
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
My name is Sharon VanDyke, and I’ve been a speech-language pathologist for almost 20 years. I have worked in hospitals, schools, nursing homes, home health, and rehab centers. In 2016, I decided it was time to branch out on my own and so I started my private practice. I am so glad I did! I have specialized training in feeding/swallowing, Autism Spectrum and social communication needs, articulation and language development, and working with nonverbal individuals needing Augmentative Communication support. I began working with the local Early Intervention CDSA office in Asheville NC in 2017, providing early intervention services to the northern parts of Buncombe County. In 2020 during COVID-19, by necessity I added teletherapy to my practice, and am proud to say that I can offer these services along with face-to-face therapy. My passion is to make my client’s world better by helping with communication and eating. By using skilled, evidence-based techniques combined with care and compassion, I help my clients reach their goals. Moved and guided by a desire to connect with each individual I meet, I strive to help others achieve. It’s why I walk through the door (or get in my car!) everyday.
